Temple University Japan's expansion to Kyoto comes after its enrollment has increased by more than 75% during the last three years. Presently, TUJ enrolls 2,240 undergraduate students, who come from 70 different countries.

U.S. News, which has published its annual “Best Colleges” rankings since 1983, revised its methodology this year. Temple University placed No. 89 in the latest national university rankings, which marks the highest ranking ever for the university and the first time Temple has been included in the top 100.

Following a national search, Monika Williams Shealey has been appointed dean of the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). She will officially begin in her role on July 1 and will replace James Earl Davis, who has served as dean in an interim capacity since June 1, 2022.

Part of the National Artificial Intelligence Research Institutes Accelerating Research, Transforming Society and Growing the American Workforce program, Temple University along with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of Florida and Educational Testing Services will have five years and $19.5M to pursue inclusive and intelligent technologies for education. The Temple project will be led by Jamie Payton, professor and chair of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences in the College of Science and Technology.
