Investiture Ceremony
On Friday, April 4, Temple University formally welcomed President Fry as our 15th president. The investiture ceremony, held at the Temple Performing Arts Center on Main Campus, featured prominent guests from both the university and the broader Philadelphia community.
During the ceremony, President Fry shared his bold vision and outlined his priorities, emphasizing Temple’s commitment to student success and enhancing the student experience; plans to advance discovery, creativity and innovation; and how we will strengthen the university’s connection to local neighborhoods through strategic partnerships and economic development.
Innovation with Impact
Leading up to the investiture of President Fry, a series of panel discussions, presentations and exhibits emphasized the Temple community’s scholarly and creative work across its many schools and colleges. These events—Temple Talks, Innovations in Research and Teaching, and the Arts and Innovation Showcase—shone a spotlight on Temple faculty and their contributions to our students, the university and the world.
Keynote Conversation
The keynote event of the Innovation with Impact series was President Fry’s conversation with Ellen Cooper, chairman, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Lincoln Financial Group, and distinguished Temple alumna. During their discussion, Cooper shared insights on her journey as an actuarial science major at Fox School of Business and how Temple prepared her for leadership, including her role as the first female CEO in the 120-year history of Lincoln Financial.
