Temple is excited to announce a weeklong series of events for Homecoming and Family Weekend 2022 held from Monday, Sept. 12, to Sunday, Sept. 18.
This year, we will also celebrate President Wingard’s inauguration as our 12th president with a series of special events held Sept. 15–17, including Dr. Wingard’s investiture ceremony emceed by broadcast journalist and Temple Trustee Tamron Hall, KLN ’92, and featuring guest speaker Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) on Sept. 16.
The cornerstone event of Homecoming and Family Weekend 2022 is the football game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, along with the accompanying Tailgate Village and TU Philly Fest. Also, as part of the Homecoming and Family Weekend celebration, local artists and alumni are welcomed back to the Tyler Art Market and Crafts and Drafts, held in-person for the first time in two years. Additional Homecoming events include a golf cart parade, a stand-up comedy show and much more.
In addition to the official investiture ceremony, the inauguration events include the first installment of a thought leadership symposium, hosted by President Wingard, and the Cherry and White Access Gala.
“Each year, Homecoming gets bigger and better and is a representation of the pride that our alumni and community have for Temple,” said Eliza Stasi, the interim associate vice president of alumni and constituent engagement. “A great added layer of excitement to this year is aligning President Jason Wingard’s inauguration with Homecoming and Family Weekend as a part of the pride and traditional events that we have to offer at Temple,” she added.
“It’s a great opportunity to come out, reconnect with your networks, and have fun celebrating with fellow alumni and students.”
