Talks@Temple is a global thought leadership series that invites conversation about pressing topics at the intersection of learning and work. The event features the most knowledgeable figures from academia, the corporate sector, the arts, entertainment and more to tackle challenging subjects and share perspectives.

President Wingard and university leadership speak with experts in their fields to make connections between what we do at Temple University and current events, trends and news. In these conversations, President Wingard and his guests examine critical, timely topics, and engage in a meaningful exchange of ideas and perspectives about subject matters relevant on a local, national and global level.

Talks@Temple premiered as part of President Wingard’s inauguration events. The first installment featured President Jason Wingard in conversation with Oscar-nominated director M. Night Shyamalan. 

Valerie Harrison, vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion at Temple, moderated a roundtable discussion with Erika Irish Brown, chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer at Citi; Reginald J. Miller, vice president, global chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer at McDonald’s; and Maxine Williams, chief diversity officer at Meta (formerly Facebook).
